More about AirDroid App

The app will let you a transfer speed of about 3.5 Mbps, which is apparently more than enough. Apart from the file transferring feature, the app has many more useful features like sending SMS messages from PC, playing music / videos from your phone, viewing photos from phone, taking screenshots from PC etc. This entire feature can be utilized by the user using the app. This app will enable you to transfer file more conveniently through WiFi network.

Disadvantages of AirDroid and other WiFi transfer Apps

Basically transferring files through AirDroid or any such App involves two way data exchange. Therefore whatever you upload and download will count towards your monthly bandwidth limit allocated by your ISP. So remember, AirDroid is a data hogger and if you are transferring some big ticket 1080P movies you should note that your data plans are being eaten away all the while you do the transfer.

Do you want to test your network security? It used to be that you needed a desktop OS such as Windows or Linux installed on a computer with a specific wireless network card. Now, however, you can also use certain Android devices to scan and crack wireless networks. These tools are available for free as long as your device is compatible. Hacking routers without permission is illegal. These steps are provided to test the security of your own network.

1. Root a compatible device. Not every Android phone or tablet will be able to crack a WPS PIN. The device must have a Broadcom bcm4329 or bcm4330 wireless chipset, and must be rooted. The Cyanogen ROM will provide the best chance of success. Some of the known supported devices include:

  •  Nexus 7
  •  Galaxy Ace/S1/S2/S3
  •  Nexus One
  •  Desire HD

Download and install bcmon. This tool enables Monitor Mode on your Broadcom chipset, which is essential for being able to crack the PIN. The bcmon APK file is available for free from the bcmon page on the Google Code website.

  • To install an APK file, you will need to allow installation from unknown sources in your Security menu.

3.Run bcmon. After installing the APK file, run the app. If prompted, install the firmware and tools. Tap the "Enable Monitor Mode" option. If the app crashes, open it and try again. If it fails for a third time, your device is most likely not supported.

  • Your device must be rooted in order to run bcmon.

4. Download and install Reaver. Reaver is a program developed to crack the WPS PIN in order to retrieve the WPA2 passphrase. The Reaver APK can be downloaded from the developers' thread on the XDA-developers forums.

5. Launch Reaver. Tap the Reaver for Android icon in your App drawer. After confirming that you are not using it for illegal purposes, Reaver will scan for available access points. Tap the access point you want to crack to continue.

  • You may need to verify Monitor Mode before proceeding. If this is the case, bcmon will open again.
  • The access point you select must accept WPS authentication. Not all routers support this.

6. Verify your settings. In most cases you can leave the settings that appear at their default. Make sure that the "Automatic advanced settings" box is checked.

7. Start the cracking process. Tap the "Start attack" button at the bottom of the Reaver Settings menu. The monitor will open and you will see the results of the ongoing crack displayed.

  • Cracking WPS can take anywhere from 2-10+ hours to complete, and it is not always successful.

Windows 8 and 8.1 has a default feature to share a WiFi connection without using any third party apps. a few little tweaks in command prompt will make your Windows machine work as a WiFi Hotspot Easily. All you need is a working internet connection on your Windows machine. Either wired, USB or wireless connection can be used. Make sure you’ve a WiFi adapter on your device, especially desktop users.

Since most of the desktops only use ethernet connectivity, they won’t have WiFi adapter. So, if you don’t have WiFi connectivity on your machine, you cannot share WiFi with other devices. Lets have a look at the steps to convert your Windows machine into a WiFi hotspot.

Turn your Windows PC into Wifi Hotspot

So in this tutorial I will show 2 easy ways to share internet connection not just to create a wireless ad hoc connection in Windows 8.  One is By Using Third Party Tool and another one is without using any tool.

2 Methods to Turn Windows PC into Wifi Hotspot

Method 1. Using Connectify:

This is an Easy method so i will recommend you to first try this method. Simply follow the below simple steps.
Step 1: Download Connectify Hotspot for Free First of all.
Step 2: Install it and Restart your PC.
Step 3: If a Windows Security Alert of Windows Firewall appears, then you need to click Allow access button to add Connectify Hotspot to the list of allowed apps.

Step 4: On Next screens, you should click to choose Connectify Hotspot Lite to use it for free.
Step 5:  Hotspot Name: enter your desired hotspot name (SSID) after the "Connectify-" prefix. Only Hotspot PRO lets you choose any SSID you want. Input your desired network security key. Choose your available internet connection (Wi-Fi, LAN) that you want to share.

Then Choose Wi-Fi to create a Wi-Fi hotspot. Choose Ethernet to share over a wired connection (only available in Pro version)
Step 6: Almost Done now all you have to do is Click on Start Hotspot Button.

Method 2: Without Any Tool

Step 1: First you need to open “Command Prompt”. There will be two modes, one is normal mode and another one is Administrator mode. For this process, you need to open the Command Prompt in “Administrator Mode”.
Step 2: After you open the Window, type the following command in your Command Prompt.
netsh wlan set hostednetwork mode=allow ssid=Hotspot key=Password123

The “ssid” represents your “WiFi Hot Spot’s name” and the “Key” represents your “WiFi Password”. You can change them, incase you need.
Step 3: Next, enter the following command and press enter to start your virtual WiFi hotspot. It should show a message that “The hosted network started”.
netsh wlan start hostednetwork
Step 4: Now, go to Control Panel -> Network and Sharing Center -> Network Connections. There you will see the newly listed “Virtual Local Area Connection”.
Step 5: Get back to the “Network and Sharing Center” and click the “Ethernet” or whatever shows in the “Connections” section. A new window will pop-up, in that select “Properties” and go to “Sharing” tab on the top.
Step 6: Enable “Allow other users to connect through this computer’s Internet Connection” option on the top. In the drop down list below, select the newly listed “Virtual Local Area Connection”. Click “Ok” and you are good to go.
Now your Windows machine will act as a virtual router, to connect all your devices. This option will be very helpful when you have an ethernet connection or a USB Connection, you can easily share WiFi and connect your other devices using this method. Try this on your Windows 8 machine and share your experience with us.

Fortunately for those who are curious about these questions, there is a very simple and practical trick that can increase the WiFi signal with a can of beer, soda or a drink that comes in a similar package.

To do this, we need only an empty can (plastic), scissors, knife and duct tape. The process is as simple as you can see in the  image.

Just take an empty can, take a Scissor and Cut it in the shape as shown in the above picture.

Now Place the Can Behind the antenna of your Modem so that it captures the signals and wont let the signals go pass.
This Technique works like a charm and you will feel the difference. After perfoming this trick you will see Strong Signals and also Signals reaching you somwhat even if you are far away from the Modem.
Tip: Tin can function as a kind of antenna dish and is going to do is to direct the signal with more energy to where that bounces, so try to aim the Tin to the place where mostly you Sit with your laptop in  the House so take advantage of the signal at maximum power.

Today i am going to post how to hack wifi using hydra password cracker by the requesting on our user Leaving your wireless router at its default settings is a bad idea. The sad thing is, most people still do it. Once they've penetrated your network, hackers will change your router settings so they'll have an easy way back in. This allows them to change your network into a shell or proxy so they can forward their traffic anonymously through you when committing other dirty deeds.

If you keep your wireless router at the defaults, then hackers can control your firewalls, what ports are forwarded, and more.

But never mind the hackers, what about your kids?

In this Null Byte, we're going to take a hack at our own wireless routers to see just how secure they really are. We'll be using Arch Linux and THC Hydra, a brute-forcing tool. Windows users, you can follow along if you use Cygwin.

Step 1 Download & Install Hydra
First we need to go to the Hydra website, download Hyrda, and get everything configured. In this article, a "cmd" refers to a command that has to be entered into a terminal emulator.

Download Hydra from THC's website.
Extract Hydra in a nice location.
cmd: tar zxvf hydra-7.1-src.tar.gz
Change to the newly made directory.
cmd: cd <new directory>
cmd: ./configure
cmd: make
cmd: sudo make install
Step 2 Use Hydra on Your Router
Now we're going to attack our routers. The default IP/URL to reach it at will be 192.168.1.1, so test that address in a browser to confirm it. If you get a dialog box, you've reached your router. This is running HTTP basic authentication.

Commands & Configuration
cmd: xhydra
Enter 192.168.1.1 as your target.
Use http-get as the method.
Port 80.
Pick a word list saved on your computer.
Click start!

and hydra start carcking password
note: user it may take 1 or 2 or 3 day or it may take months
to crack on the behalf of password if pass word is like this (ABcD12AcD345) <--- mean if pass have uper and lower latters so his can take months and is pass like this (abcdefg) or (welcome) or (helloworld) it take 10 to 20 minits to crack

Note: you can download hydra and its password list from google in free . you just Google it to find them.

DONE IT !!!

If you have any question about it then , you can comment below and i will reply to your comment.
please note that this tutorial for only educational purpose only.

Every technological platform is evolving with time, with portability and security emerging as the major areas of concern. This trend has been affirmed with the advent of WiFi networks in recent years. WiFi networks have become so prevalent nowadays that be it may be any locality, either urban or suburban, you are bound to find one or more networks. Hence WiFi security has become a very important issue nowadays.

WiFi networks offer portability, which is a very essential factor in various circumstances, some of them would be like the following:-

·        With WiFi tethering integrated in most smartphones, one can share their internet connection with another authorized user by creating a new WiFi network and allowing the user to connect and use the WiFi network.

·        Files can be transferred over an Adhoc (Temporary) WiFi network.

·         Communicate over a WiFi network through messages

·        Using  a WiFi network to propagate an internet connection across a particular area

WiFi networks offer a lot of convenience to its users, and are really easy to set up, but they are not without their drawbacks. I shall proceed to explain a major security concern of WiFi networks by an example. For a WiFi network setup at home, the range of the WiFi network extends well beyond the premises. So all an attacker needs to do is to bring his or her device in range of the WiFi network, run a software and voila!!! Within a few minutes the password of the WiFi network is known to that person. Hence our WiFi network, and consequently our personal network, in case of multiple systems running on the WiFi network, are prone to compromise.

So it is important to implement WiFi security in our networks. Wouldn’t it be a nuisance if someone else accessed your WiFi and logged on to the internet without your knowledge?! Fortunately, WiFi security requires just a few basic steps, and preferably should be employed at the time of setting up the WiFi network.

    1.    Set the WiFi security type to WPA2-PSK and encryption to AES
Quite a few WiFi networks run on WEP, which can be hacked pretty easily using basic tools. WPA2-PSK is till date the hardest to crack, and should be used on all WiFi networks. This can be configured at the WiFi access point. A standard procedure is hard to define as the device may differ as per the user.

    2.    WPS function should be switch off
Many WiFi access points have this feature switched on by default. This should be turned off as it is another very common compromise point in WiFi security.

    3.    Set a very strong password
As with all security procedures, setting a strong password goes a long way towards implementing WiFi security. A good password policy would include atleast 10 characters, with numbers, digits and special characters. This would make the password harder to guess, and thus would be the most important way to secure for WiFi security.

Please note that these parameters can be configured only at the WiFi access point, and the process for the same would depend on the person’s WiFi device. In other words, WiFi security would depend on the user's scenario. Ensuring that these three factors are met would make your WiFi network a lot more secure than before.

Almost half of the Internet users across the globe use ADSL routers/modems to connect to the Internet. However, most of them are unaware of the fact that it has a serious vulnerability in it which can easily be exploited by anyone with a basic knowledge of computer. In this post, I will show you how to hack an Ethernet ADSL router by exploiting the common vulnerability that lies in it.
Every router comes with a username and password using which it is possible to gain access to the router settings and configure the device. The vulnerability actually lies in the Default username and password that comes with the factory settings. Usually the routers come preconfigured from the Internet Service provider and hence the users do not bother to change the password later.
This makes it possible for the attackers to gain unauthorized access to the router and modify its settings using a common set of default usernames and passwords. Here is how you can do it. Before you proceed, you need the following tool in the process:

Hacking the ADSL Router:

Here is a detailed information on how to exploit the vulnerability of an ADSL router:
  1. Go to whatismyipaddress.com. Once the page is loaded, you will find your IP address. Note it down.
  2. Open Angry IP Scanner, here you will see an option called IP Range: where you need to enter the range of IP address to scan for.
  3. Suppose your IP is 117.192.195.101, you can set the range something as117.192.194.0 to 117.192.200.255 so that there exists at least 200-300 IP addresses in the range.
  4. Go to Tools->Preferences and select the Ports tab. Under Port selection enter 80 (we need to scan for port 80). Now switch to theDisplay tab, select the option “Hosts with open ports only” and click on OK.
  5. Now click on Start. After a few minutes, the IP scanner will show a list of IPs with Port 80 open as shown in the below image:
  6. Now copy any of the IP from the list, paste it in your browser’s address bar and hit enter. A window will popup asking for username and password. Since most users do not change the passwords, it should most likely work with the default username and password. For most routers the defaultusername-password pair will be admin-admin or admin-password.
Just enter the username-password as specified above and hit enter. If you are lucky you should gain access to the router settings page where you can modify any of the router settings. The settings page can vary from router to router. A sample router settings page is shown below:
Router Settings Page Hacked!
If you do not succeed to gain access, select another IP from the list and repeat the step-5. At least 1 out of 5 IPs will have a default password and hence you will surely be able to gain access.

What can a Hacker do by Gaining Access to the Router Settings?

By gaining access to the router settings, it is possible for an attacker to modify any of the router settings which results in the malfunction of the router. As a result the target user’s computer will be disconnected from the Internet. In the worst case the attacker can copy the ISP login details from the router to steal the Internet connection or even hijack the DNS by pointing it at a rouge DNS server. If this happens, the victim will have to reconfigure/reset the router settings in order to bring it back to normal.

The Verdict:

If you are using an ADSL router to connect to the Internet, it is highly recommended that you immediately change your password to prevent any such attacks in the future. Who knows, you may be the next victim of such an attack.
Since the configuration varies from router to router, you need to contact your ISP for details on how to change the password for your mode
